Placement Testing

Â鶹´«Ã½ CC administers , an untimed computerized assessment, to provide incoming students with immediate results of skill levels in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. The higher score of ACT and ACCUPLACER determines the student’s optimal curriculum as acknowledged in the Â鶹´«Ã½ CC  and  tables.  Â鶹´«Ã½ CC will administer the ACCUPLACER Next Generation tests for placement, but previous ACCUPLACER Classic scores and COMPASS scores may still be used for placement purposes.

If ACT scores are not available at the time of registration, the student may take the first level of English and/or mathematics or opt to take the ACCUPLACER Next Generation tests to determine the recommended course level. If one wishes to challenge an ACT placement, it is recommended that the student view the  prior to taking ACCUPLACER Next Generation tests (Reading and Writing for English and Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics for mathematics).  Students may take ACCUPLACER by appointment with a campus representative listed below. Â鶹´«Ã½ offers ACCUPLACER only to Â鶹´«Ã½ CC students and no testing fee is applied.  ACCUPLACER scores taken at any other institution and shared directly by the student to Â鶹´«Ã½ CC through ACCUPLACER may be accepted upon admission.
